Robert Elfer, NCARB, is a partner at studio TROIKA, a design practice based in Boston, New York, and London. He possesses bachelor's degrees in architecture and management information systems and has practiced architecture since 1992—most notably in Boston with Moshe Safdie and in Paris with Rem Koolhaas and Francis Soler. He has led ARE seminars since 1999 and currently teaches at the Boston Architectural Center. Robert also led ARE Building Technology reviews at the American Institute of Architect's national conventions in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009, as well as an AIA New Orleans hosted seminar in 2011.
Ronald Fergle, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been involved in energy-conscious design for over 20 years and is the president of Solart, Inc., an architectural design, lighting, and energy analysis consulting company. Ron has a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Miami University and a Master of Science in Architecture Studies degree, with emphasis in Building Technology, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has designed and written lighting analysis and energy analysis computer programs, and has been a project manager for a major computer aided facilities management initiative. Ron is a licensed architect with project management and design experience in assisted living care facilities, retail projects, single- and multi-family housing, and alternative energy exhibition facilities. He is a conference presenter, guest lecturer, author, and design award winner.
