What is the NCARB Retake Policy?

What is the NCARB Retake Policy?

NCARB recently changed the retake policy for individuals who have failed a division of the Architect Registration Exam (ARE). Currently, candidates are able to retake the exam division 60 days after the failed attempt. Candidates may retake up to three times in a running year.

The previous retake policy required 6 months between retakes. NCARB made this change in October of 2014 to provide greater access to the exam. The 60-day time frame is needed to allow for test monitoring and test performance by NCARB. It is also necessary to maintain exam security.
