Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Brightwoodarchitecture.com (the “Site”), which is operated by Education Corporation of America
(“ECA,” “we,” “school,” or “us”). Your use of the Site is only on the condition that you agree to abide by the following terms:


A full refund may be obtained within 30 days of purchase and upon the school’s receipt of the returned books. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 30-45 business days after the return is received and processed.

Course Policies
Web-based Courses and Classes
Web-based courses and classes are only eligible for a refund within 30 days of purchase. Refunds are subject to a $20 Administrative Fee. Archives of web-based courses and classes are available during your course access period.
Price Adjustment Policy
Discount or pricing adjustment requests must be provided at time of purchase. Discounted pricing cannot be combined with any other offers, coupons, discounts, or promotions. The school reserves the right to correct any incorrect pricing/charges that may have occurred.
Shipping Policy
All materials are shipped as promptly as possible based on product availability, usually within 1 business day after receipt of order and payment processing. Orders are shipped via UPS Standard Ground unless otherwise instructed. For an additional fee, materials may be shipped by Next-Day or 2nd Day service. Next-Day and 2nd Day order requests must be received by 1:00 pm Eastern time to be delivered the following business day. Delivery dates are subject to UPS delivery schedules.
Access Policy
In general, online access to study materials for courses shall be granted for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Access for online seminars is 12 months from date of purchase. Online supplements shall be available for 12 months from the date of purchase. If products are updated during access period, you will receive the updated material for the remaining access period once the new content is released. ARE 4.0 product access will expire on June 30, 2018.
Extension Policy
You may be able to extend your course access period once at a cost of 50% of that course’s then current retail price. Your extended access would be provided for the same length as the original access period. The School reserves the right to deny extensions for courses that are planned for termination. Access period changes made at the discretion of the school. Course titles are subject to change without notice.
Additional Policies
By visiting the Site or submitting your personal information to use, you accept the terms described in the Privacy Policy. From time to time we may modify these rules. Your continued use of the Brightwood Architecture site after any modification indicates your agreement to the new terms.
Collection and Use of Personal Data
When you register for our classes, subscribe to our newsletters, fill out a survey, or request information from the site, we will use our registration screens and online forms to collect personally identifying information such as your name, address, e-mail address, and credit card information ("personal data"). We may also collect some or all of this personal data from you through our print enrollment forms, or if your employer offers one of our courses. In addition, if you send us an e-mail or communicate with us offline, we may collect the personal data that you voluntarily provide us at that time.
We may use your personal data in the following ways: for the purpose for which you specifically provided the personal data, for example to provide one of our online classes, or to deliver the results of class exams and assignments, or to respond to a specific inquiry; to provide you with information via email about new products or services that we think might interest you.
Anonymous Information
You can visit most pages on the School’s Site without giving us any personal data. Your visit may automatically provide us with anonymous data that is not linked to your personal data, such as your IP (Internet Protocol) address, browser type, operating system, domain name, access times, and referring web site addresses. Some parts of the school’s Site use cookies and embedded pixel technologies to facilitate your use of the Web site and to track general traffic. You can learn more about these anonymous data collection devices in the section entitled Cookies, below.
Sharing with Third Parties
We may need to disclose your personal data to third parties if we, in our sole discretion, believe it is required by law, to enforce our User Agreement or this Privacy Policy, or in connection with a sale or transfer of some or all of our assets in the school’s Site.
Other than these limited exceptions, we will not share your personal data without your permission.
Transfer to the United States
If you are located outside of the United States, please note that the personal data you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. Whenever you submit any personal data to us, you consent to this transfer.
Your Ability to Choose
You can let us know that you do not wish to receive any further information from us by clicking the unsubscribe link in the emails we send you or by calling us at 877.523.8208. If you contact us via email, please put the words "opt-out" in the subject line.
Please note that these opt-out mechanisms do not apply to email that we send you to (i) confirm your registration in one of our courses, or (ii) provide you with information regarding your attendance or exam results.

A cookie is a string of information that is sent by a web site and stored on your hard drive or temporarily in your computer’s memory. The school’s study materials are protected by the laws of copyright of the United States and other countries throughout the world. Unauthorized reproduction of these materials, or portions thereof, in any form whatsoever, is strictly prohibited.
The school’s materials you have purchased are to be used for your own personal use and benefit. Unauthorized commercial resale of the school’s materials is prohibited. Please be advised that school personnel regularly monitor various commercial online auction websites in order to prevent the unauthorized sale of the schools materials. The school reserves all its rights in the event of a violation of this policy, which may include discontinuation of the auction itself, suspension of your privileges as a seller, and enforcement of the school’s rights under law and equity.
Trademarks which appear on this website may be marks of third parties that are not affiliated with the school.
Please read this agreement carefully before accessing or using your Online Access. By accessing or using online products or services, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not wish to be bound by these terms and conditions, you may not access or use your Online Account. The school may modify this agreement at any time and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting of the modified agreement. You agree to review the agreement periodically to be aware of such modifications and your continued access or use of Online Access shall be deemed your conclusive acceptance of the modified agreement.

The owner of the copyright is Virginia Colleges LLC. You may print and download portions of material from the different areas of www.brightwoodarchitecture.com solely for your own non-commercial use. Any Online Access via www.brightwoodarchitecture.com is solely for your non-commercial use. Any other copying, redistribution, retransmission or publication of any downloaded material, is strictly prohibited without the express written consent of the school. You agree not to change or delete any proprietary notices from materials downloaded from the school. You agree that you shall have no recourse against the school for any alleged or actual infringement or misappropriation of any proprietary right in your communications to us.
2. Use of Online Access via www.brightwoodarchitecture.com. You understand that the school does not warrant that this Online Access will be uninterrupted or error-free. Online Access to www.brightwoodarchitecture.com is provided on an "as is, as available" basis. You agree to meet the minimum system requirements set forth for the school’s electronic products.
You understand that the school may revise the content of its Site and online products from time to time to meet its training objectives. It may add or remove materials that it considers as unnecessary or no longer relevant for exam preparation. Once the material is removed it will not be accessible and will not be available upon request.
You understand that your Online Access is a limited license and the subscription is non-transferable and is to be used only by you. You will not share the username/user id and password with anyone, even if that person has his or her own Online Access. Such sharing of usernames/user ids and passwords is a violation of this Agreement and will result in immediate suspension of your privileges to any Online Access at www.brightwoodarchitecture.com, without refund. The school monitors its Site, including the use of Online Access, for visitors and enforces its one subscriber-one user policy diligently.
The school will provide you feedback about your performance on the tests and exams in our electronic products. This is intended to highlight areas of your strengths and weaknesses. You understand that the performance feedback is meant to assist you in your preparation for your licensing exam(s) and is in no way intended to act as a projection or a forecast of your actual exam score(s). The feedback is intended only as a diagnostic tool of your knowledge as you prepare for the exam(s), and your practice scores may be affected by factors beyond the school’s control.
In no event will the school be liable for (I) any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, business interruption, loss of programs or information, and the like) arising out of the use of or inability to use www.brightwoodarchitecture.com, or any information, or transactions provided on www.brightwoodarchitecture.com, or downloaded or hyperlinked from www.brightwoodarchitecture.com, even if the school or its authorized representatives have been advised of the possibility of such damages; or (II) any claim attributable to errors, omissions, or other inaccuracies in the school’s electronic content and/or materials or information downloaded through, or hyperlinked from, www.brightwoodarchitecture.com. Because some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, the above limitation may not apply to you. In such states, the school’s liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
3. Indemnification. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the school, Virginia Colleges LLC and their respective subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, suppliers, and any third party information providers to the school’s Online Access from and against all losses, expenses, damages, and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from any violation of this agreement by you.
4. Miscellaneous. This agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida applicable to agreements made and to be performed in Florida. You agree that any legal action or proceeding between the school and you for any purpose concerning this agreement or the parties' obligations hereunder shall be brought exclusively in a federal or state court of competent jurisdiction sitting in Florida. Any cause of action or claim you may have with respect to the school’s Online Access must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arises or such claim or cause of action is barred. The school’s failure to insist upon or enforce strict performance of any provision of this agreement shall not be construed as a waiver of any provision or right. Neither the course of conduct between the parties nor trade practice shall act to modify any provision of this agreement. The school may assign its rights and duties under this agreement to any party at any time without notice to you.
